Problem on Nüvi 3790T

evil I have two 3790T's and just discovered a problem. You cannot, as in previous units, upload your own speed control files and then activate them and deactivate the Garmin file under the PROXIMITY icon. In the 3790T when you upload your file and try to activate and then hit SAVE. the unit will always default back to the GARMIN file. I suppose this is a not so subtle method of imposing the subscription of Garmin's own, more expensive, speed warning files. This is not acceptable. I will now return to my 765T units. Sorry.

possible fixes...

This is courtesy of another user in another forum as I don't have a 37xx series unit to test...

Move the default Garmin files from \Poi folder to a backup folder on another drive (so you have them if you need them in the future). If the default Garmin files are not in that folder, the nuvi won't continue to revert to them.

Another solution: try to press "Restore" in Proximity Points.

Also note that there are no audio alerts (ding or WAV) for speed camera points if you're driving from North to South. South to North, there's no problem with the same point.

I own a 3790 with problems

I spoke to Garmin on the phone since I have 2 issues with the 3790t. 1st issue is that the proximity alert will not save a custom POI like the red light cameras from this website. For this issue they are aware of the problem and will be coming out with a fix soon.
2nd issue: You cannot use the send feature to send an address or POI from Google maps or mapquest to the 3790.I'll post an issue as soon as I hear back from Garmin.
