Is it a problem if you have duplicate POI's installed in GPS?

It looks like some downloaded POI files may overlap
on locations. So If I'm searching for lets say campgrounds & I'm on the road will my GPS show me multiple entries for the same location?

Thanks

Yes it will

You will see all of them if your GPS is like my 765t

Yes

I see duplicates on my GO930 (those that come with the map and 3rd party POIs I've added).

Not a problem

Having duplicates does not create a problem except that you have to scroll past them.

Just curious - what POI files overlap?

There are dups between the camera files and it's not a problem

Not a problem on my nuvi 265T. Combination cameras are reported in both the red light camera file and speed camera file resulting in a duplicate. Since I have a different alert message for each type, I hear one alert immediately followed by the other. If dups really bother you, you can use one of the free editors mentioned on this site to combine the POI files containing the duplicates and then use a built in function to eliminate them. I did it on the camera files and it just wasn't worth the effort since the files change often.
