Small alert
Let me put it another way, when a alert comes up or a poi comes up a little black box comes up on the right, its so small I need glasses to read it. can it be made bigger

The 8 series is a different platform from the others. While it shares a lot of the same characteristics of the other series, it is a completely different animal behind the screen. I would like to do some of the same things you want with mine, but it don't work that way.
And yes, that little text box does the opposite of blowing big time!

Not being a smart a** or
Not being a smart a** or anything, but the best redlight alert I have is my wife stomping the floorboard putting on the brakes that do not exist on her side of the car.
I would love to have the red bar come across the screen, but I will just have to wait until they put it in the firmware if ever.

On my 855, when I touch the small grey alert banner I get a full screen view of the alert poi. Selecting the MORE button gets you even more info. It works the same on TourGuide alerts.
