Navteq inaccuracies

Probably others have run into the same problem, but navteq the source for garmin's maps has errors throughout, ie, delivery trucks told me they were being sent two miles east of my home location when they would arrive late after having called. Sure enough when I tried to locate my property it indicated an eastern location from actuality. Same thing on trips, on two different trips we were given wrong turns and directions at the same location even though I knew the actual route. I called Navteq and they said they would look into the matter. FYI

Location

Easiest solution may be to tell delivery personnel your actual coordinates.
If you live on a country or sparsely populated road you'll often find the coordinates and addresses do not coincide.

nuvi 855. Life is not fair. I don't care who told you it is.

..

The reason it is 'off' is that the database contains only reference addresses (usually at the ends of the street) and they use those to calculate where the address you enter ought to be based on equal sized properties.

I was in the midwest last year and a street that was broken into sections for some reason had the party to whose house I was going out by 4 blocks - and at the end of each block I had to take the turn, drive a half-block to get to the next section of the street, drive back to street and do it again until I got to their home.

Interesting, they knew about this and never mentioned it to me, even though I said I was using my navigator to find their place.

Same Problem here

I have the same problem here, at one time there was a creek that ran across my street. it has since been cut off, however when the neighborhood was built up it left a 1/2 lot on our street. Because of the reference method used by NAVTEQ it put all the address off on my street as well as a couple others.

My suggestion to you is to use the link below also to make your report just to be sure it's reported.
