Leaving for Biloxi

We're leaving from Peoria, IL for Biloxi, MS right after xmas and we'll be there until March 15. Anyone know of any detours, problems, etc that we may encounter on I-55 South? We plan to stay on I-55 most the way thru MS.

I know you're not going near I40 in NC.... The RockSlide.....
But I thought I'd post that anyone with 2010 Microsoft Streets and Trips don't trust the Construction Upgrade Alerts and upgrades...... As they (Construction Alerts) have yet to display the I40 Closing at MM #3 in NC that happened in October as of Last Night..... 12/23/09 !!!
I finally sent the site an email 2 weeks ago, Asking WHY is this not updated????? And I DIDN'T GET AN ANSWER!!!
A 2689LMT in both our cars that we love... and a Nuvi 660 with Lifetime Maps that we have had literally forever.... And a 2011 Ford Escape with Nav System that is totally ignored!

I live on Hwy 98 about halfway between I55 (McComb) and I59 (Hattiesburg). I haven't heard of any problems. I55 thru Jackson, MS always has some part of it under construction but it's not that big of a deal. I would assume you're taking Hwy 49 out of Jackson south to Biloxi???? Parts of 49 were also being worked on but no major problems and they might be done by now.
We've gotten lots of rain in this part of MS in the last 2 months. That, along with some freezing weather, has created some major potholes on the Gulf Coast. Be aware.
