We've had our 765T for a few weeks now. No real problems to speak of.
But this Saturday I was out shopping, had the GPS in map mode for traffic warning, when suddenly it shut down and re-booted by itself. Not just once but 5 times in a 10 minute period.
We don't have any MP3 data on it. All updates have been installed and worked fine till now. 3D maps are on.
I did notice the unit was hotter n'hell. The sun was shinning through the windshield at the time. When I finally reached my destination I took it out. When I returned the sun was down and the unit functioned normally. Some of the posts I read mentioned taking the unit out of the cradle and reinserting which seemed to clear the problem.
Has anyone else noticed how hot the GPS gets??
I was thinking at fist the circuit boards were over heating and shutting down. I've seen this in the products my employer manufactures. I perform specialized product testing and I have seen what extreme temps can do to circuit cards and how temperature sensitive components can be.
