Changes from version 3.60 to version 3.90:
* Corrected occasional freeze near some safety cameras.
* Corrected failure to calculate some long routes spanning multiple maps.
* Added new Transit categories supported by 2010 and newer City Navigator maps.
* Corrected some issues with fuel economy calculations.
* Corrected problem when searching for cities with certain characters.
* MP3 tracks will now resume after a proximity alert.
* Corrected the Turkish keyboard.
* Corrected some issues when avoiding traffic.
* Corrected a shut down when zooming in on a lake with Inland Lakes map data.

What were the changes from 3.80 (which was the latest) to 3.90? Do they think 3.80 just went away?

What were the changes from 3.80 (which was the latest) to 3.90? Do they think 3.80 just went away?
There was no public web release of v3.80. Garmin has internal firmware releases that never make it to the public for download and 3.80 was one of them. Internal release means that Garmin preinstalled this version on units at the factory.

Thanks. I had just used webupdater at about 10 am and there were no updates.
v3.80 -> v3.90?
I'm aware of the update notes when upgrading the software version from 3.60 -> 3.90.
I'm also aware that version 3.80 of the nuvi 7X5 software was a factory-installed release which never made it to the Webupdater software.
Having said that (/nod to Larry David) does anyone know specifically what is changed in the software when updating from v3.80 -> v3.90? In other words, which of the aforementioned software changes are attributed to the 3.80 version, and which are implemented when going from v3.80 -> v3.90?

No one likely knows except for Garmin. They post release notes/changelogs for web release firmware but AFAIK, never for internal firmware.

I did a fairly comprehensive web search and only found out that for a short time, firmware V3.80 came pre-installed on some units. I also didn't see any stand alone firmware downloads listed for the 765T (Webupdater updates only). I'm guessing that V3.80 might have been a beta version of 3.90.

I have 3.90 version but there are other numbers that I don't understand. The GPS is 2.90, DSP 2.40, Text 3.90 American English, and Voice 2.30 American English - Jill. It this right?
Also, the detailed maps are 2009(c) 2007 DMTI Spatial Inc and 2008 Navteq. Basemap is 3.00.

Webupdater
If you use Webupdater it will list all the available software for your Nuvi. Only items that are not at the latest version will appear in the Webupdater list.
Note that the Voice and Text version numbers will be different depending on which voice or text you are using.
As far as maps are concerned you need to go to Tools - Settings - Map - Map Info. The City Navigator version will appear there. Version 2010.30 is the newest version. The map details you list in your post are for the basemaps which don't normally get updated like the City Navigator maps do. Depending on when you purchased your Nuvi you maybe eligible for a free City Navigator update but if not you will need to purchase it and download it from the Garmin website.
