What Garmin Models need SOX.Exe?

I need help putting together a list of the Models that need SOX.Exe, so that I can make an FAQ page with the list.

Could someone figure this out for me and post it below please?

No MP3 player.

In the nuvi series I think it is 2x0, 2x5, 4xx, 5xx and 1xxx series that don't have MP3 players and therefore require sox.exe with .WAV alerts.

The models with an MP3 player are 3xx, 6xx, 7x0, 7x5, 8x0, 8x5 and 5000. They don't require sox.exe, but can use it if you wish to have .WAV alerts instead of .MP3 alerts.

Zumos have MP3

The Zumo 550 and 6XX have MP3.

I went through the Garmin page for the nuvi's no mp3 1200, 1250, 1260t, 1300, 1350t, 1370t, 1390t, 1450, 1490t, 1690, 205, 255, 265, 275t, 285, 500 and 550 Discontiued models no mp3 200, 250, 260, 270.

Edit.Did not list the Streetpilot series because don't recall any post that anyone had good results trying the wav files.Especially the 300 series.If anyone has had luck with wav files on any Streetpilot series maybe they can give some feedback on what models if any?

I will use this list as a starting point. Does anyone have changes or additions?

As per alandb said, I can also confirm on my Nuvi 255W & 265WT. Yes, SOX.exe is needed for .WAV alert files.
