Black Friday Best Deals? Your Choice

Today's local paper indicated that Staples would sell a $219 nuvi for $119. I checked online today and found where they would be selling the nuvi 255w for $120.

Garmin nuvi 225W Portable 4.3" GPS System - $119.99
TomTom Go 830 Portable 4.3" GPS System - $169.99
TomTom XL 330 Portable GPS System w/ Free Case MIR - $99.99
TomTom XXL 530S GPS System - $149.99

Has anyone found better deals? What is your pick for the best gps for the best price?

Are they available online

Or do you need to fight the crowds on a week from Friday?

Deals

I have my suspicions that you will find great deals all the way thru Christmas.

I don't think consumer spending will be massive this year. Actually, the less purchased early on, the better the likelihood of fantastic deals after Thanksgiving.

Last Year

I bought my wife the nuvi 760 last year (or maybe the year before, man what a 9 month old does to your memory). Anyway, my pattern of looking at sales in past years was that most offered discounts for the week to ten days after thanksgiving, but then started raising prices and not offering shipping deals the closer you get to christmas. So my advice is find a model you want with the features, see what it is today and be ready to buy when they drop the price.

Costco online - No crowds - Great price

My vote is for the Garmin nuvi 755T for $208 (+ tax) delivered. Great deal with Costco's very reasonable (for now) return policy.

Costco return policy...

In the Seattle/Tacoma area, their return policy is 90 day on electronic devices. Used to be pretty much forever, similar to Norstom's. I don't think Nordstom's does that anymore either, but I never shop there. Is it different in other areas? 90 days is still better than most 30 day policies at other stores.

Agreed. Or circuitcity online has Garmin Nuvi 1350T for 189.99 shipped. I would just check out what is available via a site like techbargains has and save yourself from the lines.

No!!!

Does not include GPS units...THE RETURN POLICY FOR TELEVISIONS, PROJECTORS, COMPUTERS, CAMERAS, CAMCORDERS, IPODS / MP3S, AND CELLULAR PHONES IS 90 DAYS FROM DATE OF PURCHASE. Direct from the Costco website....

online is the way to go

No lines (or sales tax depending on the store). I suspect there will be many deals this week at major online retailer leading up to Friday.

Who knows how long it will last?!?!?

Check out:

Garmin 750 for $157.97 (+ tax) delivered from Walmart.com.

WHAT A DEAL! And you don't have to fight through the Tryptophan haze, get up at 4:30 AM, and battle the crouds...

Cheers,

Garmin 255WT / TomTom XL340S

I ended up ordering both the Garmin 255WT ($129.99 from Best Buy) and the TomTom XL340S ($97 after discounts from Target). I'm most likely going to keep the Garmin, it looks like it will have a better user interface and gets better reviews than the TomTom.

Black Friday was a bust

Black Friday deals were lame.

Agreed

Yet another Black Friday that was more hype than substance. No wonder brick and mortar stores are giving ground to online shopping. Black Friday is their day to show consumers what they've got.

cyber monday

Does any stores have better prices for CyberMonday?

I agree. This year, Black

I agree. This year, Black Friday deals were not nearly as good as last year. I didn't see many 30% to 40% off.

Blak Friday Web site

This is a terrific web site thanks for the tip!
