Part of beach life in Southern California is protecting any food you might have brought, from the winged rats known as sea gulls. Its a common sight to see one or several swarm unattended food, especially things like potato chips and doritos. Didnt need to even read the snopes link to know it was real.

Funny.

Skunkape is right, they will steal anything. I'm in Florida and they will snatch the food right under your feet. The worse thing is that the stupid tourist feed them for fun.

At Sea World San Diego

At Sea World San Diego about 15 years ago, one swooped down and grabbed a hamburger out of my then 5-year-old son's hand. Scared him to half to death.

...and once he located his first bag he programed
it into the favorites of his GPS because he didn't know how to make a POI out of it.
The end. LOL

"It's not where you start, but where you end up." Where am I and what am I doing in this hand basket?

I guess I should have added my experience

I snorted pepsi out of my nose when I read that :_)

Not Just Birds

It's fairly common to see crows steal food from golf carts. However, I recently had my first experience with chipmonks taking food from the golf cart.

Stupid Tourists

Maybe tourists should be banned from Florida. I wonder what effect that would have on the state's economy.

Wow! Chipmonks! they're getting brave where you are! where I am, we've been on the boom side of the cycle - been ahving big ones the last few years, but they still scatter at the sight of a human

Now that's awesome.

Now that's awesome.

Sea Gulls

Don't they know that eating junk food will decrease their life spans???

Fred

Seagulls love Mc Donalds

Living here on America's North Coast, we see fresh water Sea Gulls they are a little larger and a little more aggressive.
If you follow the shore line and stop at strip plaza's, restaurants or anyplace you park your car and Lake Erie is a little rough, you can guarantee your car to be bombed with, well you know.
If you sitting outside at a Mc Donald's they will snatch fry's right from your hand. no need to talk about the beach scenarios.
