Updating default POI files

The other day while playing with the POIs on my new 765T I noticed that the local Home Depot that has been here several years was missing. It is listed in the Home Depot POI file maintained here. I guess my question is, why would I want to load all of the locations again for the one or two that might be missing. As new locations open and close, what is the best way of maintaining these type of things.

Many thanks..... Steve

Your Choice

Since we "GPS users" cannot directly change or fix errors with the built-in POI database supplied by Navteq through Garmin, it becomes our choice. You can report the missing location to Navteq and they may get around to it in a couple years, or so.

I don't load a lot of custom store or restaurant files. Walmart & Target are about it.

The ONLY way you can do it right away is to load the custom POI file and advise the member who maintains the file if you find any mistakes.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.
