.
MapQuest supports sending routes to the GPS unit.
You need to install the Garmin Communicator plug-in in order for it to work.
You can also use Garmin's MapSource software.
.
Also, if you've enabled your MSN Direct subscription you are supposed to be able to send locations over their system, though I've never had actually managed to get it to work myself.
Currently have: SP3, GPSMAP 276c, Nuvi 760T, Nuvi 3790LMT, Zumo 660T
I have...
Using Bing maps you can send a location to your GPS with the MSN Direct Service (of course you need a cable and subscription for MSN Direct). My GPS received the location sent within minutes.
Trouble using bing.
Ive tried to send a location to my 885T but it never does it. I have a trial MSN Direct Subscription and a receiver but nothing . could you please tell me how. I called msn last night but you know who answers the phone there.
BingMap location to nuvi PND
Find a location using BingMaps. Once Bing finds it, on the left window it will display the address and four links right under it:
* Save this location
* Add to collection
* 1-click directions
* Send
Click on the send and it will give you two drop down options, EMAIL and GPS. Choose GPS. You have to log in your Microsoft LIVE account for it to work. It will ask to verify the area where you receive the MSN Direct service and that is it, within minutes the information appears on your unit!
It is really easy!
I send waypoints and routes all the time to my 885T

I send waypoints and routes wirelesly all the time to my 885T using Bing Maps and my MSN receiver. Make sure you are logged into your Windows live or hotmail account before sending. Just hit send and select the MSN Direct option instead of the USB option, make sure that the unit is within the service area that is shown and the next time you turn the unit on while it is connected to the receiver the items sent will show up in the MSN Direct menu when you select the "Send to GPS" icon.
If it still doesn't work go to the MSN direct site and go to your account and select your receiver and select the reactivate button and that should solve your problem. Even if you are still receiving other updates on the receiver do the reactivation anyway. I had to do it when mine quit showing up after I had sent them.
They have been offering a $99 lifetime deal with a pro-rated refund if you cancel anytime during the first 3 years.
