If anyone has this head unit, are you experiencing a problem with the Garmin software where the following message often occurs:
"GPS Firmware Updating"
and
"GPS Firmware Complete"
These messages appear randomly and often.

I'm not sure if anyone is still having this issue or not, but if you are, Kenwood/Garmin released a software update about a month or so ago that targets this problem. You can get the update here:

I just got my DNX9140 last week, but after I got it, I saw that there were 2 software updates available for it (1 firmware update and a software update for the GPS). The firmware that was on my unit when I got it was 1.6.0, the update was for 1.8.0. The GPS update is version 3.20 (can't remember what it was before the update). So far, I haven't had any of the issues it was supposed to fix.
The only issue I really have right now (besides it take forever to boot up in general and just being slow) is working with my iPhone 3GS (it works for the most part, sometimes I get a "reading..." message that just stays there and it won't read my songs). Anyway, I hope this helps
