map detail on c330...?

I recently got a c330 (which I love) and I was wondering if it has the option to display icons for any POI that I may be passing. I've seen it in some built-in GPS systems in a few cars, and I was wondering if I could have that one mine.
I have this great new gizmo and I want to get the most out of it as possible 
You need to be zoomed in
It won't display POI icons unless you're zoomed in two like one of the few tightest levels.

Yeah, me either. It would be nice if it could be user selectable. I'd like to be able to see them at 0.3miles, if possible, but certainly at least a little further out than 300 feet.
I also own C330 unit. The
I also own C330 unit. The only way to see icons of your POIs is by doing search by spell name option and then save them in map. All your custom POIs become searchable.
That is how I am seeing my POIs icons when I am passing by.
There is no other option to see them becuase I have spent lots of time on this thing myself and with Garmin tech support.
