Lake Isabella California

Has anyone ever been there? Were going camping next week. Just wondering what else to do out there.

Hi Pennywise - We camped

Hi Pennywise - We camped there a few years ago I guess around 2003 or so. We have a 5th wheel trailer so we camped on the north shore in a free campground. It was either a State or National and is real rocky. i wouldn't camp there in a tent. As far as what to do there are some small towns which have the tourist type stuff. There are a lot of campgrounds up the river and around the dam. I didn't do any of it but I believe there is rafting and such things.

Have Fun

I was there for memorial day

If you don't have a boat, jet ski, etc there isn't much to do but relax and swim. rolleyes It is usually pretty breezy there and you see a lot of kite surfers there... I had a great time with friends & family but I also had a Motorhome to stay in with all the convieniences, I don't know if I would have had as much fun in a tent sleeping on the ground... shock

Edit: Kernville is nearby and they do have river rafting on the Kern river...

There is really lots to do

There is really lots to do even when with a tent as we have been my dog and I for the past three years! Photography for one. Go to Kerville! They have the best Deli with a German Lady that cooks those inexpensive meals for close to nothing (under $10).
Hike, read, relax... conversate... The roads there are just so beautiful.
Hope this helps...
Be well...
