NUVI 275T POI clutter

I am at the end of my rope...I have downloaded a bunch of POI's for Italy. The are great and have everything I need for my upcoming trip. The problem is when I zoom in on a map when i am driving the entire screen is covered in the POI icons and I have no detail at all. How do i choose what POI I want shown on the screen? The was really easy on my last TOMTOM but on the garmin I can't find it anywhere.

You can't choose which POI to show on the screen. The only way to "turn off" the POI is to zoom out a little bit.

Sounds like a good thing for Garmin to incorporate in their next update
Opposite
This seems to be the opposite of the majority of the posts I've read here. Most users ask how to see the custom POI icons because they don't show up. We tell them to go to 2D mode and zoom way in.
It just struck me as funny. OK... I'm weird.

Customization.
This just points out the shortcoming of the "one size fits all" mentality that Garmin has used in the newer models. It would be nice if more customization options were included in the software.
