New to c320, how to use, view, upload POI files

Go to www.Garmin.com - Find your GPS unit or just pick one that uses POI files. Goto downloads for that unit and you should se the latest free version of POI downloader.
A CVS file is a comma delimited file - If you open
an Excel file ".xls" format and look at it you will
see three or four columns and if you save it as a comma delimited file under "save as", you can then use the downloader program to recognize it and load it to your GPS. A comma delimited file format places a "," after every last word in every column from an "xls" file so the POI loader knows when to start and stop a colum.
This file format has been around since the 286 DOS era or before. A very stable form of file delineation.

Thanks for the suggestion. I clicked and read through it briefly. It suggests that I download POI Loader. I did that. When I open it, it doesn't do anything, just like the included MapInstall program. (by "it doesn't do anything" I mean that the program epens up and there's just the intro screen with a welcome message and nothing else, no buttons to click and it doesn't matter how long I wait) I had to call up Garmin and they said to download and install MapSource.

So how do I use these POI files using MapSource or is there no way and I pretty much have to use POI Loader?

POI Loader and MapSource really don't have anything to do with each other other than the fact that you can create POI files in MapSource (although most people create them through other means).

You have to use POI Loader if you want to load custom POI's to your GPSr. MapSource doesn't transfer the POI's to your GPSr. (Not sure what "MapInstall" program is.)

When you run POI Loader, it should come up with the Welcome Screen and the buttons at the bottom should be "Next>" "Cancel" and "Help". Are you saying that you aren't getting those buttons.

If so, I'd say uninstall it and reinstall it. Then try re-running it and see how that works.

Yep. No buttons on the bottom. Same was the case with the MapInstall program that came packaged with my c320.
