On the “Where to?” /”View Map” Screen, press the wrench. Then press the”System” Icon. Then press “About” to see the Version of software that’s loaded in your C550.

I think I'll pass on this update.

I won't be using postal code searches in Great Britain anytime soon.

I have been noticing that the C5x series seem to be almost the same (except for some enhancements) that we all can use the same upgrade and such.

My c530 also had a new upgrade that fixes the postal codes (found overseas - not the USA) so no need to upgrade.

Still no DST update for that one? thats a surprise. Anyone talk to garmin directly?

The C510/C530/C550 (don't know about C580) all run the same firmware - obviously it checks for something at run-time to determine which model it is.

You have to take Garmin's maintenance logs with a pinch of salt...for example the update for V5.2.0 made no mention of a radical redesign of the interface (so that it now auto-zooms near a turn). It did contain a statement about fixing a bug from 4.0.0, which was wrong - it was actually introduced by 4.1.0

So this latest change may well address other things as well. BTW - I have no idea what the stated fix (to UK Post code lookups) is supposed to mend - UK Post Code lookups appear to have been working fine all along !

Then if that is the issue, maybe I should upgrade then.. I would think that Garmin would be more in detail what they upgrade in the history files.. Oh well, like you say, maybe they need to fix something that they broke in a prior release and dont want to announce it..

In case you don't know... you can subscribe to the Garmin Update List and get notified for any Garmin software updates for your unit.

It's real helpful to get the emails since oyu get them as soon as the update is available and out of the "Beta" stage.

I have never recieived an e-mail from Garmin and I did this. I guess I will submit my address to them again. I always have to search the site on my own for updates.

I also signed up and have not received any e-mails to date. I have found all of my updates from other users on this site.

Like several others, I have signed up for the update emails and have yet to receive one. I thought it was because my ISP was sold and they got lost in forwarding, but apparently that is not the case.

I'm curious, has ANYONE gotten any update emails from Garmin?

I recieved mine two days after I learned about it on the Zumo forum.

I get mine too ! Here is what it looks like:

Not very good on part of Garmin.

I also have not recived any E-mails from Garmin, I went back to review my info and all looks good but no E-mails..

Maybe I will call them!

I got the EMail notification for the Garmin C550 upgrade.I gave my c550 to one of my sons a year ago and I,am now waiting for the upgrade for the 7200

is there a certain point when they stop supporting a model? i just got the c320, wondering if i should buy a more recent one instead.

Besides my 2730, I have a 7500 too! It uses the same software as the 7200.

There is a "new" software version availbale right now for the 7500/7200. It's V5.0.

Same with me - I have not received an Update Notice emails from Garmin. I end up just checking the site once or twice a month.

It's more than 2 weeks. Garmin still does not have DST update for my 2 month old c340. I'm disappointed by Garmin, an industry leader.

I'm new to GPS. I have a dumb question. Don't laugh, not a techno. I downloaded the red light camera into custom POI. How do I activate it if I already program the GPS to go to a destination through "My Location"?

If you loaded it in with POI Loader, it is already active and will give an alarm (as long as proximity alarms are set to on) when you near the location.

Someone mentioned it had not yet been released, but I noticed today that the new version is there and updated.

Software loaded with no problems.
