Best buy on a friction mount?

Anyone care to share where they found an exceptional buy for the friction (beanbag) mount for their nuvi?

Thanks...

AMAZON

Amazon

I bought one for my father in law with his "new" 660 for around $22 after Christmas. Most other places I have seen $35-40. It retails for 39.99.

Amazon +1

That's where I got mine. It's listed there right now for 29.50. Here's the direct link (tinyurl'd since it's so long) http://preview.tinyurl.com/86daap

I would say ...

... Amazon or Ebay.

Amazon is interesting as the price fluctuates, sometimes even the same day. I have a MSN reciever on order from Amazon while it was back ordered and I got it for $81.27, I saw it the same day for $81.97 after I purchased it and 3 days later it was over $90.

I was interested in the Nuvi 255W and a few weeks before Christmas it was about $202 and then it went up to it's current price.

If you're not in a hurry and the price went up I would say watch Amazon for it to go down again.

It's a good thing that there's GPS systems or I would be ... always lost!

sale at Best Buy

Best Buy had them on sale for $19.99

Did that include the mount?

Some of them do and some of them don't...

yes ...

yes, it was the bag and "ball post"

Got mine at Amazon. As noted

Got mine at Amazon. As noted before, the price will fluctuate. I waited for it to drop below $25 and pulled the trigger.

Staples.............

I found an old staples gift card in my wallet from a couple of years ago, called to see that I had $36.00, went to staples paid $4.00 + tax out of pocket for my bean bag mount! Not a bad deal!

staples

but $40.00 + Tax --- ISN"T

I'm interested

N2it,

I'd be interested on which suppliers don't include the "ball mount arm"? If it's an original Garmin product, I'd be surprised.

However if you are taking about the connector interface adapter, it's not part of the mount.

We purchased both of ours for ~25 from Amazon.

I will say this however. If you wait a few months for a <$30 to drop a few dollars in value, you have lost a few months of usage for a couple bucks.

IMO... not worth it.

Fry's Electronics

I got mine about six months ago at Fry's Electronics for $19 and change.

You're right...

I was referring to the ballmount arm. Some of lower priced versions do not include the arm, you have to use the one that came with the GPS device.

I bought a square (supposed to be more stable than circular) friction bean bag mount from Amazon.com for $9.99 US.

If you buy the genuine garmin replacement it will come with the ball "arm." Others require you to use the windshield mount and "stick" it to the beanbag. Not much of an improvement in my book.

Check eBay. A vendor there sells a round (rgther than the Garmin rectangular with flaps) bean bag that takes up a little less dashboard real estate and works well. It comes with a suction cup and ball nearly identical to the one that came with your Nuvi that attaches to the bean bag. While I don't think it's as good overall Garmin's model you're looking for a bargain and that's the cheaper alternative.

According to their web site

You may want to call Radio Shack and ask I have found that their's and others like Home Depot and Lowe's show somethings and not others. also when you check a store they say the item is not sold at that store but you go to the store and it's on the shelf. I got mine when I bought the 660 on black friday last year and that was from Best Buy. Good Luck
