FREDERICK, Md. (Map, News) - Owners of hand-held Global Positioning System devices can show off their navigating skills in a statewide scavenger hunt that begins Thursday.
The Maryland Municipal League Geocache Trail includes stops at 78 towns and cities, grouped into 11 districts. The sport of geocaching involves tracking down groups of small items hidden outdoors.
The Municipal League is giving the first 500 people to visit at least two geocache sites in each district a limited edition coin.
Details are available from a link at the Maryland Municipal League Web site, http://www.mdmunicipal.org
