MapSource download tip

This tip will let you install MapSource on your system even if you don't have a previous version installed. Download MapSource here:

(Note that this is an older version. Don't download/use 6.14.1 as it is SLOW as molasses)

Rename the file you've just downloaded adding the .zip extension (MapSource_6137.exe.zip), then double-click & extract all the files in the zip archive to a folder.

Within that folder will be a file named MAIN.msi. Simply double-click & run MAIN.msi and MapSource will install, even if you don't have a current version installed on your PC. Don't run setup.exe as this is the file that does the "previous version" check and will not proceed if you don't already have a version of MapSource already on your PC.

*Note that this will only install the MapSource application and NO mapping data.

You can use MapSource to transfer Maps (if installed)/Waypoints (or Favorites)/Routes/Tracks to & from your GPS/PC (among other things).
