Excel Messup

For sure someone knows the answer to this but I don't. I am trying to upload some POI files. When I create them in excel and try and save them as .csv I get an error message that states "some of the components of this file are not compatible with CSV files". Just not sure where the error is but it is limiting the number of POI posted in the file I am uploading. Any thoughts?

Excel give this error typically when cells have font/color etc changed from default. Go ahead and save as .csv. Then open .csv and see if all your POIs are there. If not then do the following.

1. Open a new excel file.
2. Copy the colums which contains POI info in old file.
3. In new file, click Edit->Paste Special. Double Click on "Value only"
4. Now save this new excel file as .csv.

Hope this helps.

Also, be sure that you only have one worksheet in your workbook.

excel

Make sure the columns have no headers.

Me Too

I get the same warning too but just ignore them and save the file. The end result is that the file is saved as I wanted.

Right

Other replies heere are right. You always get this WARNING message when saving a cvs file from an Excel workbook, since there are many things in workbooks that are not compatible in cvs files. As long as you didn't do anything exotic with fonts or formats you should always be able to just ignore it.
