I recently inadvertently added over 1500 hotels to my favorites. Can I delete selected entrys without erasing all of the locations I have in there?
The 750 has a max limit of 500 Favorites, so I'm confused as to how you added 1500.
Yes, if you choose a location and then the EDIT option, you will be given a chance to delete them one at a time. You can also use EasyGPS, I believe, and do them much more easily.
Maybe do a hard reset?
But he doesn't want to delete them all.
Better to have to load a few back then delete 400+ one by one.
Here's what I would recommend.
Send the Favorites from the nuvi to EasyGPS or MapSource.
Delete the ones you don't want in EasyGPS (or MapSource).
Do a hard reset on the unit to clear all the Favorites.
Then load the Favorites back to the unit from EasyGPS (or MapSource).
I am unsure where the Favorites files reside on tne NUVI 750 I have been able to see the Custom POI's on my computer via the F drive. I did not see my favorites file there.
Once I find them, How would I send the Favorites to EasyGPS? Could I merely copy them to my hard drive and Then reload them to the NUVI?
Thanks for your help.
OOPSIE.... It was about 500 not 1500
Do this on the 750:
1. Click on tools.
2. Click on the bottom right arrow and select My Data.
3. Select Delete Favorites.
4. You can select which Favorites to delete or have the option to select all.
Good Luck and welcome to POI Factory.
The Favorites are contained (well it's really a backup) in a file on the nuvi named current.gpx. You could copy this file. Open it in EasyGPS, edit it, do a hard reset on the unit, and then send them back to the unit.
Or using EasyGPS, you should be able to use the "receive from device" function to get them from the unit.
Thank you, It worked
Thank you, Too! I found the EasyGPS and downloaded it to my computer. I understand what is happening and now am playing with EasyGPS to better manipulate the nuvi files. Thanks a Bunch!
