Firmware 4.00 & BlueTooth Fiasco

Has anyone at all ever been able to restore, rectify or recover their BLUETOOTH functionality after rolling back to the earlier versions? The 4.1 upgrade did nothing for it. It also was just as poor a performer on the Nuvi 760 as was the 4.0 2.9 works great, no lags or other issues, but the BLUETOOTH is still dead. Garmin has been little or no help other than I can get a refurbished unit. NOW my fear is that it will arrive with either 4.0 or 4.1 installed on it!! LOL I'll be right back where I started( other than a working bluetooth) sad 750's were not affected since they do not have BLUETOOTH. Thanks.............

I just got off the phone again with Garmin (I have not sent my nuvi 760 back as of yet)and was told that they expect an update out soon to address the bluetooth issues after the 4.0 upgrade and regress fiasco. My questions to him was in regard to the 760 series. I wouldn't know if any of this applies to your unit smile

Bluetooth

I get a message on my 770 that the phone is disconnected about every 2 or 3 minutes. I assume that it reconnects, then disconnects again.

Is this the same problem as you are all getting?

Dear Phil,

I have done some research into this issue for you, and we are going to have to bring in your nuvi for repair. The reason you were not able to downgrade your firmware without my assistance is because the software engineers did that purposely to prevent things like this from happening. The changes in 4.0 were significant enough that when you downgraded your firmware to the 2.2 using the files I sent, it caused the issue with the Bluetooth. The downgrade process from 4.0 to anything else causes a critical memory area to be overwritten, which then renders the Bluetooth inoperable.
