Patience...

If you can wait, go on the day after Thanksgiving. I scored my Nuvi 260 for $130 off retail at Staples. It still sells for more than what I paid for it. razz

Don't forget to check Costco

Before you buy, check the special deals at Costco. I got my nuvi 760 for $350 in June when they were running a special.

You can still order one, even if you are not a member, you just have to pay a 5% surcharge. And they had free shipping. For an extra $2 I got it in 2 days.

Does this work? Anyone try it yet?

join BB rewards club

The coupon is pretty self-explanatory...

its for Rewards members and it says you have to provide your ID #. I read that joining is free now.... a change from several years ago.

The efficacy of the rewards program is questionable according to comments I've read but that only applies to other purchases, not the deduction one would get with the coupon.

Costco $100 off

Costco has an upcoming coupon for $100 of a Garmin, although I forget now if it was any Garmin or a specific model. I can look tonight if anyone is interested.

I have been in the Best reward program for a while now and it works well.I spend time both in VA and FL and have always gotten my reward credits.I have not tried the 50 dollar coupon but have it close if I see a good deal there.

Amazon still the better price

Just bought my Nuvi 350 from Amazon $199 and no shipping cost. I've been comparing several item prices at Best Buy, they were always more expensive and not by a small dollar amount.

I can't believe we are

I can't believe we are discussing Black Friday sales already!!! LOL

I used it to buy my ONSALE

I used it to buy my ONSALE 200.

Yes, could you please check if it is for Garmin. I checked Costco online and they now only carry three Garmin models. And when I checked with my local stores, they stopped carrying Garmin altogether. So I am curious which model they will have on sale.

Costco Coupon - online only Aug 4-10

Ok just found it in the coupon book they send out periodically where the coupons are good for certain time periods.

It is for the Garmin nüvi 270 and is for $100 off good August 4th - August 10th.

Oh wait, online customers only, so add shipping and handling to that.

Just checked Costco and the current price is $299 so with coupon it should be $199.

costo coupons

When did you get the coupon book? I haven't gotten one for a few months now.

Best Buy coupon

My friend used this coupon last week to buy a NUVI that was on sale. Regular $219, sale $149.99. He paid $100 with coupon, and not a rewards member.

Buying from Costco

Most of the times Costco does not charge for S&H, it's already included in their price. You just have to pay the extra 5% if you are not a member (like I did). For $2 (the difference between the free S&H and express) I had my GPS in 2 days.

Will most definitely buy from Costco again. Very positive first experience.

I believe I have always paid S & H from Costco on internet purchases but if I don't like the item I can return it to any Costco for a full refund including the S & H

BEST BUY, MY FOOT

Best Buy has some bad policies....

Normally, I would not share this with others, however, since this could happen to you or your friends , I decided to share it. If you purchase something from, Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, JC Penny, Sears etc. and you return the item with the receipt they will give you your money back if you paid cash, or credit your account if paid by plastic.

Well, I purchased a GPS for my car, a Tom Tom XL.S from 'Best Buy'. They have a policy that it must be returned within 14 days for a refund!

So after 4 days I returned it in the original box with all the items in the box, with paper work and cords all wrapped in the plastic. Just as I received it, including the receipt.
I explained to the lady at the return desk I did not like the way it could not find store names. The lady at the refund desk said, there is a 15% restock fee, for items returned. I said no one told me that. I said how much would that be. She said it goes by the price of the item. It will be $45.00 Dollars for you. I said, all your going to do is walk over and place it back on the shelf then charge me $45.00 of my money for restocking? She said that's the store policy. I said if more people were aware of it they would not buy anything here! If I bought a $2000.00 computer or TV and returned it I would be charged $300.00 dollars restock fee? She said yes, 15%.

I said OK, just give me my money minus the restock fee.

She said, since the item is over $200.00 dollars, she can't give me my money back!!!

Corporate has to and they will mail you a check in 7 to ten days.!! I said 'WHAT?!'

It's my money!! I paid in cash! I want to buy a different brand..Now I have to wait 7 to 10 days. She said well, our policy is on the back of your receipt.

I said, do you read the front or back of your receipt? She said well, the front! I said so do I, I want to talk to the Manager!.

So the manager comes over, I explained everything to him, and he said, well, sir they should of told you about the policy when you got the item. I said, No one, has ever told me about the check refund or restock fee, whenever I bought items from computers to TVs from Best Buy. The only thing they ever discussed was the worthless extended warranty program. He said Well, I can give you corporate phone number.

I called corporate. The guy said, well, I'm not supposed to do this but I can give you a 45.00 dollar gift card and you can use it at Best Buy. I told him if I bought something and returned it, you would charge me a restock fee on the item and then send me a check for the remaining 3 dollars. You can keep your gift card, I'm never shopping in Best Buy ever again, and if I would of been smart, I would of charged the whole thing on my credit card! Then I would of canceled the transaction.

I would of gotten all my money back including your stupid fees! He didn't say a word!

I informed him that I was going to e-mail my friends and give them a heads up on this stores policy, as they don't tell you about all the little caveats.

So please pass this on. It may save your friends from having a bad experience of shopping at Best Buy

I am passing it on. Take it for what it's worth.

Best Buy & Circuit City

Best buy & Circuit City both have a 14 day policy and a restocking fee if the package has been opened unless something is wrong with the item. I think Frys is the same too but not sure. I had a deal at Best Buy Manhattan Beach, CA., not long ago where I wanted to buy a 22" Samsung monitor and they were out of them. The salesman sourced it at the El Segundo location (about 3 miles away). When I went to purchase it they wanted about 100 bucks more. I explained that I was sent from the other store and was told that I would get the same price. They told me that each store sets there own prices except on advertised items. They had a really bad attitude and after talking to the manager I knew why!! I even asked them about there price matching policy... So here is what I did... I purchased it for the higher price then drove back to the Manhattan Beach store and returned for a full refund then before the guy could set it on the floor I said wait, I changed my mind I still want it. He looked at me kinda funny, re scanned it, came up for the lower price, he looked at me and laughed and I paid him. The Manager of that location happened to be standing there and asked what happened so we talked about it and he told me that I did the right thing. He said look around our location is packed with customers and I bet there store was empty and he was right. He told me to find him if I ever had an issue in his store.

I find that with chain stores that each one is not run the same and it's important to only buy from stores that the sales people seem to care, Best Buy or others.

Thats my story... True!
Goodnight

nüvi 660 & 670 - Hello I'm a Mac :))

That's why I haven't shopped there in years

I don't know how you missed it but that's been Best Buy's return policy for years. Because of that and other things, I haven't bought a big ticket item from Best Buy in over 8 years.

Lesson is ALWAYS KNOW THE RETURN POLICY!! No matter if you purchase from a B&M or online. And find the printed/posted policy - don't rely on the salesperson. Arguing with the manager about he said/she said will at best get you a GC to use at the same place you are having trouble with or the police showing up to escort you off their property.

I just looked up a price for one of the Garmins and Best Buy had it for $50 more than Amazon.

Buyer beware and be aware!

You do get credited for the

You do get credited for the price less taxes AND LESS any offered rebates!!!!
