New nuvi 750 Owner with a question

Hi all,

Just got a nuvi 750 and updated it with the latest firmware and it shows that is has the City Navigator North America NT 2009.

I am a little disappointed though. My house and subdivision has been built since 2003 and it isn't on the map! I would like to know two things:

1 - Do I have the latest map? I am pretty sure I do, but wanted to be sure

2 - If I get Mapsouce, are those more accurate and up to date maps?

Any suggestions or tips/tricks are gladly welcomed!

Thanks!

Dean

Maps

If you have City Navigator 2009 then those are the most up to date maps available. You won't be able to get anything more detailed or accurate. It's sad but some places aren't on the maps. My daughter has lived for several years in a subdivision that isn't on the maps. I've solved the problem though..... I'm currently at her house in Montana packing up all her stuff and moving her back to California to a place that IS on the maps. wink

Mapsource works in conjunction with the maps you already have and won't give you any more detail. It will simply let you view the maps on the computer and create routes there that you can send to your 750.

Report map error

May want to send error report for address missing so they can get it on a future map release. http://www8.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/errorForm.html

Thanks for the info everyone! I guess the 21st century isn't ALL it is cracked up to be! HA!

Still love my GPS though.

Sometimes it takes drastic measures to put us on the map. grin

Heh - add that to the standard list of amenities to look for when house-hunting in the 21st century. Besides the usual "Quality of local schools for my kids", "access to shopping, hospitals, work, etc" we can now add those important life qualities of:

1) Local internet access available; cable/DSL.
2) Cell phone coverage.
3) Location exists on GPS maps.
