Sadly, ALL fireworks are illegal where I live. I love fireworks, explosions, rockets, colorful stuff. You can't even be in possession of a sparkler in my county. This year, with all the fires we've been having, the DA has vowed that anybody caught in possession of any type of fireworks will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and will face penalties up to a $1,000 fine and 6 months in jail. If you manage to start a fire while using fireworks they will stomp on you REALLY hard.
I can go see the local fireworks display but it's pretty weenie. I saw better fireworks last year in Montana standing on my daughter's back deck. The "display" was just the townsfolks setting off the fireworks they had purchased for personal use. It was MUCH better than the official display put on by the town where I live.
Keep the shiny side up and the rubber where it belongs.

Youth Baseball All-Star Games, season ending play-off games, Swim Team meet, birthday parties, swimming parties (the kids - not me - you wouldn't want to see that)cleaning of gutters, yard work, garage cleaning, walking in a couple of Independence Day Parade's with the kids, fireworks displays - It truly has been an action / activity packed weekend! Anyway - I hope that everyone had a tremendous Independence Day Celebration and weekend!!

So what did some of ya'll do? We had the std bbq & watched the neighborhood firewords. Its amazing what a small town can do...
We had my parents, my aunt and uncle, 3 of my cousins and their kids, and one of my brothers over for a BBQ and fireworks. At one point I started up a game of Guitar Hero 3 and got my dad and my mom to play for a bit. It was pretty funny watching two old geezers (both with arthritis) make fools of themselves.
Our HOA doesn't allow us to light fireworks within the community, but that's never stopped my family. There's a grassy hill that spans the length of our community...on the other side is a fairly quiet city street, so we lit fireworks there.
Since everyone in my family (except me and the wife) are hardcore Mormons, there wasn't any booze involved...which at one point I could have really used a stiff drink...having 3 kids under the age of ten running around our house isn't my idea of fun...it is however, excellent birth control.
