Has anybody ever seen any GPS units that display what county information? There are times when it would be handy for me to have that information.

Just got started looking at garmin maps recently. i haven't seen county info on any yet but i wasn't really looking . . .

Looked at my USGS bookmark a little closer and found they have a nice map viewer at the link above. you can set it up a lot of ways. i used the boundaries and then county & county names checkmarks to look at it.
i didn't check for downloadable maps, though. Good Luck!

Severe Weather Alerts
Has anybody ever seen any GPS units that display what county information? There are times when it would be handy for me to have that information.
County information would be especially helpful during severe weather alerts when traveling in unfamiliar areas. Most of these alerts are done by county.
GPS/Weather Radar
I have a program on my PDA/phone, when I attach the GPS to it(via BlueTooth), the program will show the local radar based on the GPS location and track my location. This way I can see ahead for severe weather.
