A comment was made in one of the other threads mentioning that it isn't possible to organize your Mp3 collection in different folders on the Garmin nuvis, nor is it possible to create a playlist containing songs that are located in different folders. Well...because I can't stand to have thousands of files from different artists all in the same folder, I set out to find a way to do it! And guess what, it's not too hard.
First off, everything was done using a Garmin nuvi 760 and a Kingston 4GB SDHC card.
So for those of use with OCD...or those who just like to be organized, you can get the guide here:

I would have posted the guide on the forums here, but a special character would not show up...and it's kind of important.
Enjoy!
I just looked at it....
It opens with notepad on my computer and the symbol is a rectangle.... I don't believe it shows up with notepad... on a pc....
edit:
What is the symbol, I guess I should say character?

Wow, thats complicated
I was wondering how to do this. But I think that for me, it is easier just to dump the mp3s all in the root. Maybe someone could make a utility that would automate this.
Choose "Open With"

Right click the file, choose "Open With" and select Notepad.exe from the list.
If you don't have the "Open With Option" just double click the file, and when it asks if you want to let windows seach for the right program, select the option to find it yourself, then the list of programs will pop up.

It's a box... Under MS word, it acts like a carrage return I think...but I can only get it to show up in notepad.
