Removing 2009 Map Update files after installing in Nuvi?

I posted this under the 2009 MAP UPDATES thread and it seemed to get lost (sorry for a duplicate post). This site has been a wealth of information and I'll bet there is someone who knows the answer to the following questions --

Just finished installing the 2009 update on the 260 using my $10 DVD smile Went perfect under Vista. After reading through this thread I thought the update would include MapSource but I don't see it anywhere???

The update did install WebUpdater and I used it after the 2009 map update to make sure all other files (firmware, voices etc.) were current. Worked perfect.

A few questions --

1. Does anyone know if the 2009 NT update includes MapSource? Yes, I know MapSource won't do as much for me since I'm only running the 260 without routing capability but....

2. The Communicator plug-in, POIloader, and 2009 Update show in the Windows add/remove (in control panel). I plan to use the add/remove to remove the 2009 (to save disk space). Does anyone know if this will also remove the WebUpdater?

(Hope not, I'd like to leave WebUpdater on the system....but WebUpdater does not have a separate entry in the add/remove panel?) Thanks.

1.Map Navigator 2009 NT

1.Map Navigator 2009 NT update does include the MapSource. The reason why it's not install on your pc is because you auto-run the installation. I don’t have the map installation DVD so I don’t know what files are in the map updates, but in order to get the MapSource you need to manually open up the DVD update by first going into My Computer, then right click the update DVD icon and click explore. Then you need to look under a specific file and install it or something like that.

2.Well if it does remove the WebUpdater. Go on Garmin website and download the WebUpdater.

on the DVD if you explore it

on the DVD if you explore it , in the file Windows you will find a file MSI in that file there will be 5 files named ,CNNANT2009Update in the language you need choose the right one and clic on it , this will install Mapsource on your PC ,but you will still kneed the 25 digit number to unlock the maps .

Sorry I misread you question

Sorry I misread you question , you can remove everything from your PC and reinstall only the Poiloader and web updater

Other files on 2009 Maps NT disk

I wonder if anyone has looked in a 1st level folder called "IMG", Inside that are 6 folders named with numbers such as "006-D0322-03" inside these are 4 folders with 2 of them named manifest.xml and summary.xml. Double clicking these brings up some sort of game called "BigBang 4 in a Row". This is strange because it can only be stopped with a force quit. Any ideas why this is on the disk??

But, my guess would be so that they can be loaded on GPSr's that can run games (800 series).

IMG folder = CNNANT map builds

The subfolders in the IMG folder contain data to assemble five different builds of the CNNANT maps - North America, Canada, Lower 48 States, East and West.
Your Mac seems to think they are for one of the Big Bang board games.
