Hey quick question I have the NT 2009 map on the nuvi 350 but I'm going to recieve a nuvi 360 soon, can I transfer the map over? Also I'm going to get a cassette adapter. Do you guy prefer a specific brand?
The maps are for a specific unit
So no, but maybe the new unit will have 2009 on it or you will be eligable for an update...

You know if it's some kind
You know if it's some kind of coding that prevent this?
Yes
When you attach the new unit to the device, a message will come up saying the maps are for a different unit... You actually could probably use the same map set with a new registration number...
From what I have read the units ID and the mapset are used to create a 25 digit number to unlock the maps for the particular unit...

Sony.
Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.
I Second the Sony

Yup, Sony. I'm real happy with mine.
