Google Earth Plus

I have a Garmin 260 which does not allow importing routes from Mapsource. Would there be any difference if I was to pay the $20 per year for Google Earth Plus which has a GSP output function? I would expect to only get waypoints posted under favorites, and not route information from using directions in google earth. Any comments appreciated. Do you need a unit that takes route inputs like the Novi 7xx series?

Just the obvious...

If you want upto date info, mapsource would be the one I choose over Google Earth. Now, if you want a more realistic view of the map, obviously Google E. But, I feel that Mapsource is engineered to suit GPS users, unlike GE, who meets the demand of your average person.

What about Mapquest?

I just noticed you can download routes to Garmin via a plug-in. I don't believe there is a charge.

MSN Live Maps is free and if you log in it will allow you to export your pinpoints as gpx files or a supported GPS unit (anyone that can use an MSN antenna accessory)

MapSource Can Do The Same -- I Think

If you are willing to accept the route as waypoints under favorites, I believe that can be done with Mapsource. I think it is Rick (rapriebe) who always advocates this method.
