This is the place to talk about things that are not gps related, you can discuss whatever you would like, as long as it is clean. Remember we have families that have their children involved in the GPS fun and we don't want to make parents feel uncomfortable when their children ask what that word means.
This thread will be closed on Monday and a new one will be opened.
I can't believe I get the first post.Memorial day weekend coming up soon.If you can afford the gas be safe on the roads this holiday.
Everyone have a safe holiday,
We have a member of POI-Factory "PaulATL" and he is a finalist in The Garmin Garage Wrench ‘n’ Win Contest, wouldn't it be nice to have a Garmin Car Designer winner from right here in our own community!
Now be sure to go Vote for Paul G find his entry in week One
good luck Paul
We should be able to put paul over the top if just 1/4th of the members here vote.
Well, he is very much in the lead with 19% of the votes...
That turtle is smoking the competition....
Took a trip to Seattle, WA last week. It was too hot here just like in LA. Thinking of going back there for my retirement.
Everyone have a safe weekend and don't forget to display your flag.
And Hilliary wins Kentucky with 34 delegates.
Paul has my vote, good luck
Sure hope you like cold, cloudy, rain for about 7 months out of the year. The summers are generally really nice but you pay for it the rest of the year.
Last week was not a good example as they set a record for heat but are back to normal now.
Given the population of Vancouver and Seattle there must be a lot of people who are allergic to the sun or who just like wet conditions.
Having said that, we won't mention that in January it is about 50-60 degree warmer there than here.
Whatever you do this week-end, do it safely...
If driving, Buckle Up!!!!!
Oh Yea, GO Vote for Paul's design, Turtle Tour Design.
Miss POI. You can't close this Chit Chat Thread on Monday. It's a Memorial Day holiday...Take the time off, lol
Sorry no can do, I have to call someone a COW every Monday or my week just does not go well
Who decides what the chit chat of the week will be?
Sorry That I have not been around been working 15 hears a day and loving it. Can not stay long have to go to bed for tomorrow I have to take a bus load of Collage Baseball players to Fresno and I will not be back till Monday. Some body eat some BBQ for me please. Any way later have a grate Holiday eat a lot of BBQ and PLEASE BE SAFE ON THE OPEN ROADS I want to see you having fun out there and not talking to the CHP.
If any of you are interested in BBQ and happen to be in New York the weekend of June 7th, check out the Big Apple BBQ Block Party. It's mayhem, but you've got to attend this event at least one time to at least witness the sea of people that flood this event every year--it's quite a sight. I've gone to this event several times and it was a fun each time.
My advice: Lines can be excruciatingly long so go for the Bubba Pass if you can swing it and get there early each day.
[I am not associated with the event]
Just finished up with the Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest.
Normally, if I call someone a COW on Monday, my week does not go well. Guess I just don't have the power that you do Miss POI.
Just to clarify to any new people out there that might be reading this and getting the wrong impression.
We have a recognition program here on the site called the COW Awards which is short for Contributor of the Week.
This award is given out every Monday.
Just hit $4/gal here today.
just hit 3.69 here ha and i thought that was freekin high!
The GAS-GOUGERS are outta controle !! !! !!
Even the Cheap gas stations are $4.05 here. Oops, did I say "cheap"?
Here's an article.
Personally, I'm more worried about how quickly the price will increase than how much I'm paying today.
One interesting comment in the article. It talks about how gas is much cheaper than "other essential fuels," and mentions Starbucks venti latte and Budweiser beer.
I saw deisel at $5.299 yesterday in Beverly Hills. Remember when it was chaaper than regular...
"In 300 feet, turn on Lois Lane"
For a moment, I was hesitant to do that, lest Clark Kent's alter ego would come out of nowhere to kick my butt.
And you tell Clark: "My Nuvi made me do it"
Good luck Paul!!!

Being a Texan, I've never heard BBQ and NY used in the same sentence before. Next thing you know, they'll be trying to make chili.
There's a whole 'nother country outside your whole 'nother country of Texas you know...and we like to do things like BBQ...and there are a few that do it awful darn good.
I went to New york for spring break and barbecue there is not the same thing as it is down here.
Just pasted a 76 Union about 1 hour ago in West Los Angeles. Barrington and Olympic Blvds. "$4.55 per gallon and you had to put the gas in yourself....
Thanks Toyota for the Hybrid...
Just about to wrap up vacation and gas in Kauai, Hawaii is around 4.05 for regular. Saw it break $4 about the time we got here two weeks ago.
gets 7 miles to the gallon! I'm saving my aluminum cans so I can go somewhere! Somewhere close! Gas here in CA is $4.199 a gallon! Diesel is much higher!
Have a great Memorial Day!
