C330 & 2009 Update: create maps on SD card?

As we know the c330 will not hold all of the North American maps, if you purchase the 2009 update could you save the maps to a SD card using mapsource to get all of North America in one place?

yes C330 works on the SD card

I did this for a friend. We installed the mapsource dvd and used it to write the whole US as a supplemental map, directly to the sd card. Popped in the card and switched on the unit... in the map setting it listed the old and new maps... we chose the new. It seems to work fine.

Maps 2009 and C530

If it works for the C330, I assume the same is true for the C530 that also has memory limitations!!! Will this work for the downloadable version or do I have to buy a DVD??

For the 2008 Maps, MKAHN had devised a neat way to load US maps on the GPSR and Canada maps on the SD card.

MKAHN: if you read this - have you updated to the 2009 Maps and have you had the same success with the process you described last August?

Thanks

Jean

Yes, same method works for the 2009 maps

Update on SD card

My Dad is extremely paranoid about the software overwriting his existing 2008 maps on his C340, so I bought him a 2GB SD card and used Mapsource to transfer the entire update onto the SD card and then showed him the way to select the new maps. This has been working without any hiccups.
