Trouble loading POI to Nuvi 200

Hi,

I just got my Nuvi 200 a couple of days ago. I loaded POIs using POI Loader from Garmin site with the listings I wanted. I see a message, successfully loaded.

My CSV file looks like this:
-118.93364, 34.18996, "Staples"
-119.07558, 34.21676, "Staples"
-118.79641, 34.15425, "Staples"
-118.89749, 34.27892, "Staples"
-119.17905, 34.23422, "Staples"
-118.86833, 34.27991, "Staples"
-118.74011, 34.27895, "Staples"
-118.67913, 34.27176, "Staples"
-118.59957, 34.18809, "Staples"
-68.7444,44.8346,"Staples - 180 Bangor Mall Blvd. - Bangor","180 Bangor Mall Blvd.
Bangor ME 4401
207-947-9225"

But when I search in POI for Staples, I do not see the listings that I added. Any help guys.

Thanks.

Are you looking under "Extras"? They would not be under the built-in POI's, if that is where you are looking.

Hmm.. I didn't know I have

Hmm.. I didn't know I have to look under extras. Does that mean that I cannot search the usual way for the POIs that I manually load?

In my case, there were staples in the maps by default, but none near my house. So I took a POI file for Staples all over US and loaded it.

Now lets say I go to Arizona and am looking for a staples. Should I search twice: once the usual way and the if I don't find it then under Extras? coz.. if I am loading a 1500 POIs, I can't possibly remember which ones I added.

I am just curious.

Thanks for your reply.

Custom POI's do not land in

Custom POI's do not land in the same database as the pre-installed ones. So you'll have to use Extras to find/search for them.

I have 117,000 Custom POI's and have never had to search for them. You have a Staples file, so you would look under that. You might have a Walmart file, so you would look under Walmart for one of those. If you get a large number of files, you might put all the stores in a "Store" file, but they would still be separated in the Staples and Walmart, etc. categories. The 50 closest will appear. You could have separate folders for things like Food, Fuel. etc. If you want to search for stores in far-away areas, you can use the "Near" function.

Remember, when you load new POI's, the ones you have in there will be overwritten. So you need to load them all again at the same time, rather than piece-by-piece.
