i have just ordered a copy of the 2008 maps.
it said 4-6 weeks deliver does it take that long.

Don't know where you ordered it from? And, even if I did, I have no control over there stock or mailing practices. If they told you 4-6 weeks, then that is there estimate on the time it will take them to get it to you.
Now, why did you order the 2008 maps when the '09 are about to come out?

Everyone, the v2008 NT Europe maps were JUST released LAST month. They are on a different cycle than the North American maps. Don't mix apples and oranges.
To the OP, no one can really answer that because it will depend on the vendor.
