I recently bought a 2008 Tribeca with DVD navigation system. Am not so happy with the maps and POIs because am used to Nuvi 370 easy to navigate. The navigation works with a DVD disk. Do you know if DVD disks from other NAV system work with the system. If anyone knows if they are compatible please let me know.
Why not just ask Subaru?
I would seriously doubt it, but you should still go to the horse's mouth. You should also find out what it costs to get map updates in future years. You may be in for a rude awakening (says he, who pays ~$40. for an OEM transmission oil filter for an Outback).

I have a Honda with a Navi system in it. It also works from a DVD. Navteq provides the maps to Honda, so I would expect that there would be compatibility issue. Updates for the Honda system are $180. Needless to say, I like my Nuvi 750 a lot better than the Honda system.
