Show speed on Nuvi 260

Has anybody figured out how to show your actual speed in the bottom right hand corner of the screen instead of the arrival time.

If the 260 acts like my 200,

If the 260 acts like my 200, then the answer is you can't. It is what it is and not what it isn't. wink

Show speed on Nuvi 260

I just got mine 2 days ago, so I am new at this. On my Nuvi 260 - if I just stay in Map mode and not ask it to direct me someplace - it will show the speed in the lower left side of the screen.

Yeap, as he said, you are

Yeap, as he said, you are not able to change it. it was designed like that.

Show sped on Nuvi

Me too, I have had mine just over a week. Nice unit. That was what I could not figure out, just let it run in map mode and it shows your speed but as soon as you input a destination it gives you an ETA. Still like the unit though. Learning how to do my own POI thanks to this forum.
Still have my Garmin GPSMap76S for fishing etc.

At this time, it can't be changed

But, if you tap the arrival time you should see the trip screen that has the speedometer on it.

For me it is a design flaw

Judging by the number of people that have asked the question, or expected to be able to continue to see the speed when in directions mode, I personally see this as a design flaw, it would have been too easy to have the bottom left toggle between ETA, Speed, time, or the trip screen.

In my opinion this would be easy to use and non distracting.

I still love my unit, but that doesn't stop me from wondering about small features that would not add to the cost and would add to the convenience, and it seems many of us would expect.

That is a great price. However I think my next upgrade will be the 760. Of course getting it under the wife’s radar is another (huge) task lol.
