Chipotle POI Discussion

Thanks for the input. After I requesed the above states, I found OK buried in another file. The values are a little different. These are the ones that I found.

Mahoney, John here, were you looking at the file I sent you earlier, if so use the ones you have I used batch conversion but when I run it again tonight it came out like the ones you had not the ones it gave me earlier.

I just used google earth and it gave me the following locations:

Mahoney use the ones from google earth they were almost the same as in batchconverter.

Those are already in the file, lines 237 and 238.

I finally realized that. See my comments above.

I have spent the last couple of days bringing myself up to date on the Chipotle Project. A tremendous amount of work has been accomplished on the project, but we still have work to do. Currently we have Chipotle locations (428 now in the file) in the following states, and I have included names who to my understanding has volunteered for these states.

I agree that this project should also include Canadia provinces and Puerto Rico. At this time, there are no Chipotle’s in these locations. We can add these at a future date.

As far as future inputs,I would like to continue the same format as Rider1 initially requested. (shown below). When you send inputs, let me know the method used for determining the longitude and latitude values.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Rider1 for getting this project off and running. I also want to thank Miss POI, Jm and retiredtechnician and everyone that has contributed to this project. I won’t try to list the names, because I would probably miss someone. I hope that we can continue this until completion. (I guess that as long as this Chipotle chain continues to grow, this project may never end.)
To the new volunteers that join in the future, welcome aboard. We welcome your inputs to the project.

I initially wasn't going to include that listing, but I wanted to show all states on my status page. I thought that someone might ask why some states were not shown. I probably should have stated that "the following states do not have any assigned names or locations at this time".

Actually, Michigan does have a number of locations.

Sorry, I'm now help with locations... but I just wanted to chime in and say i love the name "The Chipotle Project"... it's so dramatic.

Like the Manhattan Project... but with burritos.

It was my fault on michigan I typed from the line above. It was just in case you hadn't had time to check the other places out so I thought I would do it for you as you are busy updating the active locatons. It looking good.

Is someone going to updage the opening posts in this thread? It seems like many states have now been covered yet show OPEN. I'd hate to see someone duplicate an area that's already been coded. It took me quite a while to do the Metro NYC file as there are a lot of points.

Funny stuff, and the reply just added to it. They're, I said it.

I looked over my files for KS, OK and MO. There were several new locations in MO and OK and I refined the coordinates. No changes for the state of Kansas. State files have been changed, and the combined file should be changed in a few days.

Let me know if they need further work.

When you make a POI File you select a Category from this page: http://www.poi-factory.com/poifiles which makes it show up in the alphabetical list.

If I have built a POI Package for that set of files the files included are not in a category so that they do not show up in the alphabetical list.

Only the POI Package front page is in a category.

So some of you over achievers (Mahoney) go and select categories again and again and again so that I have to go and edit them again and again and again.

So consider this a virtual hand slap to stop doing that.

I guess that you mean for me to edit the state files to show POI category as "none". Is that correct?
If that is what you want me to do? Most of the state files were submitted by others and I can't edit those.

I was able to change the category on 3 chipotle state/area files. Florida, N Calif and Nevada. Please let me know if I did it correctly. My hand still hurts.
The rest of the state files were submitted by others. It is my understanding that they would have to change the category. I am right?

Another question. ajf1958 just made a change to Mn. I have updated the USA file to reflect that change. My understanding is that when I upload the USA file, I should also change its category to none. Before I upload the file, please let me know if that's correct.

They are building this new location right now. I suspect it will be open soon. This is the plaza where Home Depot is located.

Caution: If you go to the Chipotle website, they have placed this new location in the wrong spot - - it's about 4 miles from where it's shown on their map.

Thanks for the heads up. I will add this to the USA file and notate "opening soon". Please let me know when it opens. You should also add this location to your MA file.

Sure, send it to Miss POI. Ask her if she can fix the home page for this state file to show you as the author, than for any changes in the future, you can just click on edit on that page, edit your file and upload the new file to poifactory directly.

Thanks for the corrections. I just used Google Earth to obtain the new coordinates that I put in the file. If you get the chance let me know if these values are ok.
