Can't find the street?

If you take the coordinates from Google Maps and put them into the 660, is the street not there. If not, could it be a relatively new street? If the street is there when you put in the coordinates, I'd guess the city is different from what you might have input.

I checked my 2008 MS Streets and Trips and it cannot find it either-- it found the Zip code. I bet it is new in the last couple years and if so, it takes a couple years to add to the maps.

That street doesn't exist in the v2008 maps. There are no streets showing coming off that part of S Napa Junction Road.

Yeah, the Garmin shows NADA but Google maps shows the street clearly! I would guess that this street has been there for nearly 2 years and I have the 2008 maps on my unit but it won't show up. I wrote to Garmin to see what they have to say about it. I don't know how often Google updates their maps but I would THINK it's LESS than what Garmin does?

I would imagine that Google updates their maps MUCH more frequently and much more quickly that Garmin does.

You can report map errors to Navteq who provides the map data to Garmin.

I just got this reply from Garmin today:

"Thank you for contacting Garmin International.
Since Google maps has this listed it should be on our next update. We use the same mapping company.

As often as they see fit, Google can update their servers, and viola....all users have the update. Garmin users, on the other hand, have to EACH update their own copy of the map. It just doesn't make economical sense for Garmin to update theirs as often.

I just found it interesting that they use the same company Google uses. I would have thought they coded their maps in house to save a few bucks.

Actually, it would probably cost them more money to start from stratch, rather then just have others to do it. That is why so many companies outsource.

When I registered my Nuvi 200 with 2008 NT City Navigator, looking at the unlock codes on the Garmin website showed the date of the maps to be in fact April 2007. So, it looks like Garmin's base map is running about a year behind what Navteq and Tele Atlas have in their databses.

I don't think this is it? American Canyon is further north west of the location you have here.

Hmmmmmmm, this makes me wonder now? Same store number but different street and city?! WTF?? Ok, now I'm OFFICIALLY CONFUSED! (LOL) I got that information from Wal-Mart's website so you would THINK they know where their stores are located?! OMG, MAYBE it's another BERMUDA TRIANGLE right here in MY AREA!

the info i give you was from the Walmart POI file, just took it and made the store lines accending order and looked it up, maybe its wrong. I dont know any thing about your burmuda triagls.

Maybe they built the new store and moved from the old location? I mean, the two locations are about 10 miles or so from each other. It wouldn't make sense for them to put two store so close together in such small towns?! As far as the Bermuda triangle goes, well, I'll leave that one for the mythbusters.
