nuvi 660 model:
My brother helped me though this process and then I had my computer re-imaged.
I still have the files, but they are all in 1 folder.
Does anyone have the patience to give me a step by step "How to organize" these files for my nuvi?
Also, I have read about updating, but I do not see an "About" on any of my menus!

I maybe don't completely understand your question - but if you're asking, how to restore file to the Nüvi, the rough answer would be:

  1. *.IMG ->\Garmin - (maps)
  2. *.UNL ->\Garmin - (unlock files for maps)
  3. *.GPX ->\Garmin\gpx (but anywhere will do)
  4. *.GPI ->\Garmin\poi - (Custom POI/Travel Guides)
  5. *.SRF ->\Garmin\Vehicle - (Vehicles)
  6. *.VPM ->\Garmin\Voice - Voices

No need to restore *.GCD, *.BIN, *.SUM, GarminDevice.xml

I'm not sure I 100% understand, either. As Phil said, if you are trying to restore your nuvi to the way it was, here's an image of the folders/files on my Zumo.

I'm not sure why you are needing to do this, but this is how mine are set up.

Also, the "About" is found by going to Wrench/Settings > System > About

I'm not sure I understand either. What is a Nuvi 606?

606 is a mistyped 660.

606 is a mistyped 660. Looking at the OP's profile, a 660 is listed.
