Password

I have a NUVI 360 and 660. I had this same issue and found that I was punching in the code too fast. Slower input seemed to solve the problem.

Hey Guys, I have not used

Hey Guys, I have not used the password feature yet on my 660. I have never left it in the car. Did you also put the Garmin Lock stickers on the window? I'm worried about alerting others that I had a GPS, and then I would worry about them not knowing what a garmin lock was, and stealing it anyway.

Is there another reason I should lock my unit I'm overlooking? I'm new at this.

to lock or not to lock

If one should leave their gps unit in a place where it may become a statistic, that would be most unfortunate.
If however the lock/password feature were in place, perhaps it would be of some comfort knowing that the thief would not be able to use it. If said thief were to contact Garmin (seeking unlock), it would theoretically be possible for said unit to be tracked down and returned to rightful and registered owner.
Then again, a thief is a thief, if they can't get it to work and they just trash it, well then I have the satisfaction knowing that they couldn't use it either. Sure, I'm still out a gps unit, but the bad guy doesn't have it either.
