Description: Open daily from 9 am through 4 pm. Trip planning and hiking information is available through exhibit kiosks and sidewalk signs outside of the building. Park in one of four large parking lots and get your first look at Grand Canyon by walking to nearby Mather Point. With your vehicle parked at the Visitor Center, you can also board free shuttle buses and be transported around the village and out to scenic overlooks.
This is a Passport Stamp Location.
Grand Canyon Visitor Center has its own, official, dated passport cancellation stamp which reads "Grand Canyon, AZ" at the bottom. It is identical to the dated passport cancellation stamp available at Park Headquarters. However, this stamp is slightly different from the dated passport cancellation stamp available at the nearby Grand Canyon Conservancy Park Store, which reads "Visitor Center Plaza" at the bottom.

Directions: Coming from the South Entrance Station, continue following the road for 5 miles, it will lead you to the Visitor Center. The Visitor Center Plaza has four parking lots surrounding the Visitor Center, the Park Bookstore, a cafe, and the short 5-minute walk to Mather Point on the edge of the Canyon. From the Visitor Center, it is also possible to Park-and-Ride. Leave your car at the Visitor Center, then board free shuttle buses and ride around the South Rim.

Description: At the East Entrance, Desert View Campground offers a peaceful setting with 49 campsites. 30 feet (9.1 m) combined total length is the maximum length for RVs or vehicles pulling travel trailers. Campsites are available by reservation only at www.recreation.gov and can be made up to 6 months in advance starting Sat. April 12, through the night of Sun. October 12, 2025. Make reservations online or call (877-444-6777). It is possible to make same day call-in and/or online reservations.
Regulations Overview:
− 30 Ft. Total Is The Maximum Length For Rvs Or Vehicles Pulling Travel Trailers.
− Cars, trucks, motorcycles, and trailers must remain on the pavement.
− Generator Hours are from 7-9 am and 6-8 pm ONLY.
− Quiet Hours are 10 pm to 6 am.
− PETS are allowed, but must be leashed at all times.
− PETS may not be left unattended.
− Store food and trash in your vehicle or hard-sided containers. Do not leave pet food outside.
− Deposit trash and recycling in dumpsters. Do not leave trash unattended.
− Water spigots in the campground cannot be used to fill RV tanks.
− Sites that remain unoccupied without a occupied sign from the Campground Host posted, and without personal items, will be made available to same day reservations.
− All sites have a continuous 7 day limit and 30 day per year limit.
− There are no Group Sites. Affiliated Groups cannot break up into separate sites. Examples of Affiliated Group: clubs, Scouts, organizations, group of friends, large family gatherings.
Reservation Info: Campsites for the 2025 season are by reservation only, through www.recreation.gov. Reservations can be made with them online, by clicking the reservation button below, or by phone (877-444-6777). Reservations can be made 6 months in advance for the 2025 season that runs from Saturday, April 12 through Sunday, October 12, 2025, with the campground closing for the season on Monday, October 13, 2025. Due to high demand, Desert View Campground now requires advanced reservations. You may book reservations up to 6 months in advance. Desert View Campground does not hold back any campsites for first-come, first-served camping during peak season and does not have a wait list or call back system. Same Day Reservations can be made online (www.recreation.gov) or by phone (877-444-6777).

− Ada Info: The 2 sites within Desert View Campground, that are closest to the restrooms, are identified as ADA campsites. A number of picnic tables within the campground are wheelchair accessible. With an Access Pass or Golden Access pass, the cost per site is $9.
− Additional Info: Each site has a picnic table and a fire ring with a cooking grill. There are no showers, laundromat, or dump station at Desert View Campground. Water spigots are available between sites 8 & 10 and 34 & 35. These spigots cannot be used to fill RV tanks. Restrooms with Flush toilets are available between sites 9 & 11 next to the Camp Host's site. Desert View Campground is a short walk or drive from the Desert View General Store which sells wood, ice, groceries, and camping supplies. Additional Services include a gas station (pay-at-the-pump), trading post with coffee and ice cream, and a Grand Canyon Conservancy Bookstore in the lower floor of the Watchtower.

Directions: Desert View Campground is located within the Desert View Settlement at the East Entrance to Grand Canyon National Park. 36°02'24"N - 111°49'20"W (36.040000, -111.822222) Altitude 7,463 ft./ 2,275 m. The entrance road to the campground is the first right past the gas station. Desert View is located 23 miles/ 37 km east of Grand Canyon Village, on SR 64/Desert View Drive, on the South Rim of the park.
Weather: Late spring and early summer are the driest times of the year, with relative humidity often falling below 10% during the day. Early July through September is the the “monsoon” season. Strong ground-level heating creates updrafts of warm air, which produce powerful thunderstorms whenever there is sufficient moisture. Nights begin to get cooler in late August and early September. Winter precipitation usually falls as snow on the rims, however, Desert View campground is closed during winter months.
