Updated Garmin DriveSmart 65 With Amazon Alexa No Magenta Line While Routing

I updated my Garmin GPSs last night and this afternoon while using my Garmin DriveSmart™ 65 with Amazon Alexa I no longer see the magenta line while routing. Can someone refresh my memory on how to restore it, please?

No, usually when I press Go!, it will calculate the route and then display the map with a magenta line on the road I am navigating on.

The magenta line is no longer there. I tried reloading the map, but it made no difference.

I am looking into some sort of Factory Reset, possibly.

Mystery Solved

I unchecked some of the additional maps on my Garmin DriveSmart 65 With Amazon Alexa and the magenta line returned.

I have no idea why it didn't do it prior to the map update, but all is well now.

Yep

Having multiple maps covering the same area often throws up weird results. Glad you resolved it

Power off with ignition

Rather than a whole new thread - My question -

In the past the cradle told the Garmin it was in a car and would allow it to shut off completely when turning off the car if power was off at the power source.

Is there a setting I am not seeing for the Drivesmart 65 (With Traffic not Alexa) to do the same with the newer type mount? It goes to sleep, not off unless I push the off button for a few seconds.

I doubt it

I have a feeling that the only devices that fully shut off with loss of external power were some devices that did not have a Sleep Mode. At least for the units I've owned, I've never seen a way to default to a full Shut Down mode.

Thanks for the reply. My

Thanks for the reply. My Nuvi 3590 has a sleep mode when not using the cradle for car use. The cradle made it do the countdown, and with no intervention would turn off all the way.

The Drivesmart 65 appears to only do sleep mode even with the new style adaptor for the car mount. I was hoping I was missing a setting.
