Remember Pearl Harbor. So many lives lost. Our freedom remains intact.
Back in the early 2000's, our company got bought out by a Japanese firm. That was in March. December 7th came and guess what; no Japanese personnel showed up to work. The next day, (when they did show up), we asked them why they had not come to work the day prior. Their answer; we did not know how you would feel about us coming to work on Pearl Harbor Day. We were afraid that some of you would hurt or harm us, plus we wanted to be respectful. We laughed and told them that Pearl Harbor happened almost 60 years ago and that we didn't hold grudges. They seemed relieved and one year later, they showed up to work just like everyone else. Some of those people became very close friends of mine.
