Wasn't sure where to post this, so thought it best here where many might look.

dave817 (dave726 in other forums) is the gentleman who, for many years, kept the US & Canada H-D Dealers list updated on POI-Factory (he did both the HD dealers and the Diners, Drive-ins and Dives lists on the previous US based zumoforums.com then on the UK based www.zumouserforums.co.uk after zumofourms shut down)

Dave was local to me, had his personal email. Sent an email after checking for updated list and found the last being August, 2018.

Got this reply:
This is not Dave but Ruth, his fiancé. I’m sorry to tell you this but Dave passed away December 1, 2018. He’s forever riding with the wind in his face, breathing all that nature has to offer.

Replied to her with:
Very sorry for your loss!

Never met Dave face to face, but he was always happy to help with his maintaining the list of Harley Dealers and the Diners, Drive-ins & Dives locations and answering other questions on the zumo forums... his dedication will be missed.

My best to you and the rest of Dave's family.

It's one of the difficult things in online communities, when someone passes or has a life altering event, we often have no way of knowing unless someone contacts us.

Very sorry to hear

My condolences to Ruth, and Dave's family.

I never met Dave personally, but have had a lot of contact with him in years past in several forums, and via email.

He always replied in a gentlemanly way, even when we disagreed on a specific topic.

I had suggested numerous of the changes in the Harley Davidson Dealer files Dave maintained, as I did quite a bit of riding myself. But I was never in Dave's class when it came to riding. He traveled the country from corner to corner, and all places in between.

Dave once sent me photos from a multi-week ride he did with him, Willie G, and the the longtime head of H.O.G. (name escapes me).

I'm very sorry to hear of his passing.

Angela is correct about not knowing if one of our friends on this site passes away.
I have a book "I'm Dead Now What" and in the book I have who all to notify and their contact information. I have had the POI Factory in this book for years.
