Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – June 2018

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Drove to LA to pick up our grandson for a trip to the Grand Canyon and beyond.
I suggest that people traveling from Phoenix to LA fill up at Quartzite Az for at the California border the price increases by at least 12 cents a gallon or more.

Grand Canyon Trip

From LA we drove to Williams AZ. The next morning we drove north on 64 about 50 miles from the gate. Before there was a fuel station at $3.09 a gallon. Filled up and drove on. The price at the canyon entrance was $4.10 a gallon. Saw the canyon south to north and enjoyed.

Grand Canyon

Drove to LA to pick up our grandson.
The next day we drove to the Grand Canyon. Unlike the scares on the tv news there was no prior increase scaring people traveling.
So far I have paid for gas as low as $2.76 to $3.09 on the highway from LA to Williams,AZ.
Tonight as We spend the night in Taos, the gas price is $2.95 average.

The High Line - NYC

For garden and plant enthusiasts, The High Line in New York City is a must see. The gardens are planted on a former railroad line above the neighborhoods in the Chelsea District. The design incorporates plant layouts that bloom throughout the year. Get ready for a nice walk in a botanical setting by exploring The High Line in NYC.

It's in Grant Village. Wonderful view of the lake and it wasn't crowded at all when I was there two weeks back. Unless you have reservations at the Old Faithful Inn, you can kiss normal hour dinner goodbye... We happened to get an 8:45 slot for two.

NE TN to GA

Just a quick day trip but was nice trip till we started back and the interstate became a parking lot. I ramped off wondered around for awhile with the Garmin trying hard to get us back o the parking ot even when I requested a detour. Finally the wife used Apple maps to find me a road North and we jumped far enough ahead to get back on interstate beyond the parking lot. only added about 30 minutes to the trip home.

@JebNY

@JebNY ... out of curiosity, were you using Smartphone Link, HD traffic or standard Garmin traffic service? If so, did the incident show up on the traffic service?
