Hand Helds & Poi files or Routes

Looking to start Fly Fishing again, come early spring.

Does anyone know if there are any Hand Held GPS units out there that accept POI files or Routes?

Prefer Garmin, but whatever supports them will have to do.

Yes ...

... Garmin handhelds support both routes and POIs, so you need to determine what else you want in order to decide.

Did not see POIs mentioned in the online manuals that I looked at. Saw Routes and Tracks mentioned in the Oregon 650T (I think), but POIs were not found using "Find" in the PDF file.

Was wondering if anyone out there had actually imported POIs into their handheld GPS

Yes

I import POI files, tracks and routes into my Montana and Oregon GPS receivers regularly. The procedure is the same as for automotive units. There are many POI files here at the factory that are meant for handheld use.

Garmin GPSMAP 64S

This unit is intended for the application you are considering. It's a great unit, I use it for fishing, hiking, walking, and outdoor nav. It's rugged and weather resistant.

Made for POI and Routes.

There is an option where it comes preloaded with Topo maps, or you can load your own.

It's a great handheld intended for outdoor use.
