Pretty impressive. When I was a kid we had a neighbor that would do something like this, albeit on a smaller scale.

Not Unique
A layout like that is not unique, but it is also not common. When I was a kid, one of the local churches sponsored a model railroad club as part of their outreach to young people. (Who were not required to be from a family that belonged to that church - I was one who did not).
We had a HO-scale setup in the basement of the church that was comparable to the one in that video, and was actually somewhat more realistic in several ways. I moved to the opposite side of the country in 1961 but have wondered several times over the last 55 years if that model railroad is still there.
