Locked but still giving alerts

I just noticed that if the 350 is password locked it still gives the red light / speed alerts (proximity based alerts). Is this common?

The 360 too
My 360 will do the same thing if it is locked. I guess this must be common on these.

Still Functions when locked
The nuvi 200 also functions when locked. You just can't access the menus. If you are in the middle of a route and stop for a break it will continue to direct you even if you don't unlock it.
